We had an opportunity to hear from members of the Rotary District 5650 Vocational Training Team that traveled to the Republic of Georgia (Georgia) in June of 2016. Mary Phillips, Mary Ells, Paul Ells and Tom Cardwell were our presenters.
Vocational Training Teams (VTTs) are groups of professionals who travel to another country either to learn more about their profession or to teach local professionals about a particular field. The teams are funded through a program of The Rotary Foundation(TRF) which is supported by all of our contributions to TRF.
We had great donations for this year’s Souper Bowl drive. With just $600 more in Cash and Food we can reach our goal of $1100. We hope to collect final items this week. Dave Hilsabeck will be collecting at the meeting on Friday, February 24.
Cash is accepted and very helpful. With every $1, the Food Bank of Lincoln can provide 3 meals because of their tremendous buying power.
The Lincoln South Rotary Club Board has been approached about our meeting day. Is Friday serving our Members and Club well or would there be a benefit to change to Thursday. Lincoln #14 meets on Tuesday and Lincoln East meets on Wednesday.
Watch you email for a survey that will ask for input as to the impact of this change.

A traditional part of our high school scholarship awards is that we provide gift bags to the finalists and their school counselors.
We need a coordinator for these gift bags. If we do not have a coordinator we will drop the gift bag aspect of the scholarship program. This year the scholarships will be awarded in April.
