On Friday March 24 we heard about securing the future of The Rotary Foundation through the Endowment program. Those funds will ensure that the good work of The Rotary Foundation can continue into the future and that, even in years of recession, we have funds available for the various needs of our communities.
Congratulations and thank you to Sue Merrill for becoming a Paul Harris Fellow for contributions to The Rotary Foundation of $1,000.
Sue shared her experience when she was young and the fear of coming down with polio. She remembers feeling relieved when she received the polio vaccine. At that time they put the vaccine in a sugar cube and distributed them at the schools.
Lincoln South Rotary Club has a long-standing tradition of strong support of The Rotary International Foundation. We thank Pat Grewe, Tom Cardwell and Joyce Schmeeckle for reaching the next level of PHF.
It is only because of support such as this that we are able to do what we do through The Rotary International Foundation.
It is time to sell (or buy) tickets for the Annual Grocery Grab with Russ's. The Grocery Grab is our major source of funds for the Scholarship awards.
Last year the winning ticket benefited Saint Mark's Food Pantry - what a great way to support the programs of Lincoln South Rotary but also the needy in our community.
Lincoln South Rotary supports projects and activities in many ways. We can periodically provide funds through grant programs. There are grants available through the Lincoln South Rotary Club Foundation as well as matching grants through Rotary District 5650.
The Lincoln South Rotary Club Board has been approached about our meeting day. Is Friday serving our Members and Club well or would there be a benefit to change to Thursday. Lincoln #14 meets on Tuesday and Lincoln East meets on Wednesday.
An email was sent out with a survey - please read and reply. We want input from all members.
