We all know that one of the Guiding Principles of Rotary - the Object of Rotary - includes fostering high ethical standards in business and professions. Professional Ethics: Operating in an Ethical Vacuum is the topic of our meeting on March 9. Dr. Kate Speck of the UNL Public Policy Center will be our speaker.

We learned about the Lincoln Community Foundation on March 2 from our speaker Chip DeBuse, Vice President for Development.

Lincoln South Rotary Club has many activities, special events and holidays coming up the next couple of months. Watch the website calendar closely for meeting changes. We will not meet at The Venue March 23, March 30, April 20 or April 27. But, we will meet most of those weeks - at an alternate location, time, and/or day. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy Rotary outside of a regular meeting!

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) in District 5650 is a weekend camp program April 6 (noon) to April 8 (noon) at Camp Kitaki in Louisville. RYLA programs focus on leadership and provide an opportunity for the participants to practice what they have learned. It is time to sell (or buy) tickets for the Annual Grocery Grab with Russ's. The Grocery Grab is our major source of funds for the Scholarship awards.

 

Last year the winner was a single mom who filled the family freezer and pantry with $1,000 in food! A couple of years ago the winning ticket benefited Saint Mark's Food Pantry - a great way to support the needy in our community.

Members are asked to present ideas of potential projects for us to support - non-profit organizations needing help. We  have two opportunities for grants for $1,000 and $2,000. Please bring your ideas to Clay Ehlers or Lance Odom.
