President Mary shared during the changing of the guard that she was excited about the 2023-24 Rotary theme - Create Hope in the World. She believes in it - she supports it.
She will present Hope Meditations throughout the year. Besides a thoughtful message, she is adding "hope brings a turtle" comments.

The “Hope Brings a Turtle” background story dates back to the late 80’s---before technology was as advanced as it is today. During a deposition I attended, the witness testified : “Hope springs eternal". The transcriptionist, who provided a quick, unproofed draft of the deposition, typed “Hope brings a turtle”. Thus, the turtle became my hope symbol.
