Thank you to Dick Miller for sharing a little about this life with us. It was great to have Kaye at the meeting with Dick.
Dick told us that he attended the University of Lincoln and was in the advanced ROTC program. In May 1941 he was sworn in as a 2nd Lieutenant. He found that he was knocking heads with his Major. They were able to get along in social situations but when it came to his detail it was a strain.

The opportunity came for the first Amphibious Brigade and Dick became the acting director. When the permanent director reported he recognized that Dick was not satisfied with his current position. That gave him the opportunity to become a pilot which was where he spent the rest of his military career.

He has been married to Kaye for 45 years. He first joined Rotary in Plattsmouth and transferred with his move to Colorado and then again when he moved to Lincoln. He lived in Arizona for a bit in addition to the winters that they spent there when they lived in Colorado.
