Don Rabbe was born in Omaha but grew up around Hastings. He started school in a one room school, graduated from Hastings High School and then Hastings College.
Don held many positions in a variety of companies and organizations. He started as a reporter and then did a number of other media and PR related jobs. During his career he traveled and even moved a few times.
 
He has always enjoyed volunteering and was very active in the Jaycees, including the position of Senator. He is also an active volunteer through his church. A primary volunteer position now is hospice care through Monarch.
 
He was also active in the Lincoln Ad Club where he served in a leadership position for a number of years. That is where he met Kay Wunderlich and was ultimately introduced to Lincoln South Rotary club. Since he joined he has helped with the club meeting set up / tear down. He said he is happy to be a member of such a good Rotary Club.
