At their annual "2021 Seward Service Celebration," the Seward Rotary Club extended their thanks to all those entities who supported one of their projects last year, including our Lincoln South Rotary Club.
The Seward Rotary Club undertook a project to benefit the citizens of Grand Bahama Island as they recovered from the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian in 2019.  In partnership with the Rotary Club of Lucaya, Rotary District 5650, and the Rotary Foundation, the Seward Rotary Club led an effort to provide replacement beds and medical equipment for Rand Memorial Hospital.  Rand Memorial is the only hospital for the island's 50,000 residents and 600,000+ tourists who visit each year.

The beds and medical equipment funded by this effort have now been delivered to a renovated hospital, enabling it to provide essential care for the island's residents and visitors during the coronavirus pandemic and for years to come.

The Seward Rotary Club expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to all who supported this project demonstrating "Service Above Self."  Our Lincoln South Rotary Club sent the Seward club a monetary gift last year to support their endeavors.

Since Dave Dietz, our club President was on vacation, our two past presidents, Chan Tyrrell (2019-20) and Suzanne Tyrrell (2018-19) attended this event on behalf of the members of Lincoln South Rotary.

Keeping with the spirit of the event which also included a silent auction, Chan supported their efforts by purchasing a Nebraska Cornhusker football signed by Eric Crouch, our Heisman Trophy winner in 2001!
