On May 20, 2016 we heard from Kyle Schneweis, Director, Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR).
Kyle was appointed to the Director position by Governor Pete Ricketts a year ago. He said that in his observation Nebraska has good roads, good funding and good support for projects. He said that we are in a great position to improve our transportation - certainly better than many of the nearby states.
How does where we live, learn, work and play affect our health?
CHE initiated the Place Matters Community Mapping Project to answer this question. By mapping factors such as poverty, family structure, access to health care, obesity and more, we can get a more complete picture of health in Lincoln.

Congratulations to Wayne Moore for completing the three-part Rotary Leadership Institute course.
All members are invited to participate in Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI). It provides an opportunity to really discover Rotary and enhance leadership skills in a volunteer organization. Lincoln South Rotary Club pays the fee for participation by our members.
Introducing Lincoln South Rotary Club's newest Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation - Dave and Chris Dietz.
Chris, a member of Lincoln South Rotary for a number of years, passed away last July. After joining Lincoln South Rotary, Chris' husband Dave was considering how to create a legacy in her name.
Dave Dietz stated "Lincoln South Rotary Club and all of you members meant so much to Chris I wanted to do this in her honor. She truly believed in Rotary and the mission - all of the good things that are done through Rotary".
Thank you to Dave for his generosity in making this Level 2 Major gift and for keeping Chris' desires alive through Rotary.
Another grant opportunity . . . these projects are typically from $2,000 to $3,000. With these projects we are seeking ideas for projects - where we can include active involvement by Rotary Club Members.
Some past activities - supporting the development of a handicap accessible access to the Southern Heights Food Forest, providing furniture and storage for the child care center at Voices of Hope, providing and installing equipment for a theater room at the Salvation Army Resource center and building a portable mini-golf course for the Northeast Family Center.
