April 29 at Lincoln South Rotary
Barb Bartle of the Lincoln Community Foundation and Dr. Nancy Shanks of the UNL Public Policy Office provided us with information about Prosper Lincoln at Lincoln South Rotary Club on April 29.

Prosper Lincoln is bringing together people from across our community to make our city even better. Using the findings from Lincoln Vital Signs as a starting point, community-wide discussions were held to help set priorities and establish a shared agenda for positive change.

Charity to benefit from Grocery Grab 2016
The winning ticket for the Annual Grocery Grab was purchased in the name of St. Mark’s Church Food Pantry.

RYLA - Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
Over the weekend of April 15, a group of high school students gathered at Camp Kitaki for the annual RYLA camp. The students were sponsored by clubs in Rotary District 5650 and also included the Youth Exchange Students that we are hosting in our Clubs. The weekend event provides an opportunity for youth to develop a variety of skills.

Thank you to Lincoln South Rotary Club Members for their help during the weekend camp - Tom Cardwell, Jenny Cardwell, Clay Ehlers, Ryker Lee and Dave Dietz.
Rotary District 5650 Grant Opportunities
Another grant opportunity . . . these projects are typically from $2,000 to $3,000. With these projects we are seeking ideas for projects - where we can include active involvement by Rotary Club Members.

Some past activities - supporting the development of a handicap accessible access to the Southern Heights Food Forest,  providing furniture and storage for the child care center at Voices of Hope, providing and installing equipment for a theater room at the Salvation Army Resource center and building a portable mini-golf course for the Northeast Family Center.
