December 4 at Lincoln South Rotary
Lincoln South Rotary Club has a strong tradition of supporting The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International (TRF). Foundation Chair Joe Roberts provided us with some of the reasons to support TRF.

Funds donated to TRF are managed well. TRF is rated 4 Stars by Charity Navigator due to the efficiency of the operation.

Funds donated to TRF are used for projects around the world. Some of those projects are right here in our Community. TRF sends funds back to the District for use with local projects.

Lincoln South Rotary alone has participated in nearly $30,000 in local grant projects.

New Lincoln South Rotary Club Member Presentations
On December 4th new members Daniel Kistler, Dave Dietz, Matt Horak and Rosita Moore told the club a little bit about themselves.

Daniel grew up in Grand Island Nebraska. Growing up, he was actively involved in community service groups. He is currently a financial advisor with Waddell Reed. He is a big sports fan both as a participant and as a spectator.

Dave Dietz is the husband of Lincoln South member Chris Dietz. He was a farm kid who attended a one room country school. He enlisted in the US Navy and served in Viet Nam. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from UNL and is a Harley rider.

Matt was raised on a farm and is a fraternal twin. He became a chiropractor as a result of an injury that he sustained in 5th grade. He did his undergraduate work at UNL, and finished at the Kansas School of Chiropractic in Overland Park Kansas. He opened a new practice in May.  He is a RYLA graduate which fostered his interest in Rotary.

Rosita was born in Barbados and is a high school teacher of History and English. She achieved a PHD along with her husband and has done a lot of editing work for dissertations and theses. She has had many lasting experiences with multicultural students, "adopted" daughters and grandkids via relationships with former students.

We are happy that you are part of Lincoln South Rotary Club!
No Lincoln South Rotary Club Meeting 12-25-15 or 1-1-16
The Lincoln South Rotary Club will not meet on December 25 or January 1.
November 20 at Lincoln South Rotary
Suzanne Wise  Executive Director of the Nebraska Arts Council was our speaker. The Nebraska Arts Council which responds to the needs of the Arts Community across the state is the only state agency not headquartered in Lincoln but is located in Omaha. The mission of the Arts Council is to promote, cultivate and sustain arts for the people of Nebraska.

Some of the activities of the Arts Council include
Providing grants to non-profit organizations. In fact over $3 million in funds has been granted to Lincoln/Lancaster County in the past 5 years.
Forming  public/private partnerships for funding matching grants.
Creating a "good housekeeping" seal for art organizations.
Creating a commission on arts & economic prosperity study.

Orders placed by Noon on Tuesday will be available at Rotary that same Friday. Send orders to nklein2@neb.rr.com.  Though we focus our Nut Sales efforts during the Holidays, the products are available at any time at the Fundraiser prices.
