Dave opened with the challenge of leading the Rotary Club during a pandemic. It was difficult when we were not able to meet in person.

The District Conference that was for the 2019-20 Rotary Year was held during the 2020-21 Rotary Year - and it was virtual. Lincoln South Rotary Club was not able to be together to celebrate our accomplishments. We were awarded:
  • Number 1 Club based on Club Profile
  • Outstanding Medium Club
  • Number 1 Club in Per Capita Giving to The Rotary Foundation
  • Rotary Citation from Rotary International with highest distinction was earned by the club
District Governor Roxy visited Chan to present the awards - taking care to wear masks (except for the photos).

We also had two major individual awards
  • Joe Roberts was awarded the Rotary International Service Above Self Award. This is presented to no more than 150 individual Rotarians worldwide (click here).
  • Clay Ehlers was awarded the Rotary District 5650 Cadwallader Award - the highest service award presented by our District. There is only one recipient of this award annually (click here).
The 2020-21 Rotary Theme was "Rotary Opens Opportunities".

With the Pandemic we had an opportunity to search for new service projects - something appropriate during the pandemic.
  • Heroes Into Homes - headed by Jim O'Hanlon was a successful event where we collected household goods and funds to support homeless veterans as they move into homes.
  • Trail Clean Up was arranged by Clay Ehlers and gave us an opportunity to continually serve our community and work while social distancing.
  • Scholarships were awarded again - 3 for $1,000 each.
  • Food Bank Capital Campaign - Chair Chan Tyrrell, Co-Chair DeEtta Vrana - netted $12,450 in donations from our Club
  • Tabitha Meals on Wheels delivery continued
  • Support to The Republic of Georgia for destitute elderly individuals living in rural areas; Tom Cardwell led this project
  • Tabitha Meals on Wheels kitchen equipment was provided through the District Grant - cooling, heating units
  • And more . . .
Club Goals that were set at the beginning of the Rotary Year were met . . . and exceeded.

The meeting was turned over to DeEtta who started by acknowledging Dave's Leadership.

DeEtta introduced the new Rotary Theme "Serve To Change Lives".

She wants to focus on:
