BIO

Will Schmeeckle is a project coordinator at the Nebraska Medical Association where he works to implement two grant-funded projects focused on improving access to behavioral health services in Nebraska. One of the projects focuses on integrated healthcare, which refers to the treatment of physical health and behavioral health in the same clinical setting. The other project focuses on offering training and education for the treatment of opioid use disorder. His presentation to Lincoln South Rotary will present a broad overview of the opioid epidemic in the U.S. with a description of the best options for treatment currently available. He will also discuss how people in Nebraska have been impacted by this epidemic and the efforts that are currently underway in our state to improve the lives of people living with opioid use disorder.
