Jim Timm - Nebraska Broadcasters Association
The Power of Local Broadcasters

A Wisconsin native, Timm fell in love with Radio as a child.  He began in Radio as a volunteer DJ at his hometown college station and after learning about the business side of Radio, adjusted his high school and college education accordingly.  He then sold advertising for stations in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Oregon before returning to Wisconsin and moving into sales management.  He moved to Omaha in 2002 as a director of sales in radio before becoming station manager and then general manager for six years…until accepting his current role as President/Executive Director of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association in May of 2014.

Jim says he has a lovely (and thankfully tolerant) wife Deb, and they’ve been married since 1991.  They have two adult children; daughter Lauren is 26 and attending medical school at UNMC.  Son Matthew is 23 and is their special needs “young adult,” living at home.  Jim believes in giving back where he can and those activities include reading news stories for the blind at Omaha’s “Radio Talking Book Service” and providing coaching and guidance to recently displaced executives.  Jim’s leisure activities include spending time with his family, bicycling, following his beloved Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks and attending live sports events.
