Clare Nelson affiliated as a mediator with TMC in 2009 and came on staff in 2016.  She primarily works with middle school and high school age youth who have been referred to the juvenile justice system from a variety of sources.  Prior to coming on staff at The Mediation Center, she was the Family Care Coordinator at Clinton Elementary School in Lincoln, working with high risk families, dealing with poverty issues, and teaching parenting classes to Clinton parents including the refugee population in the school’s neighborhood. 

Clare has taught the parenting education classes for divorcing and separating parents at TMC for the last five years.  She has also served as a community educator working with young adults and high risk teens educating them on sexuality issues. 

Additional accomplishments include serving 8 years on the Dist. #145 Board of Education, directing a statewide federal project dealing with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and along with her husband Scott they owned and operated an architectural millwork business for 30 years.
