Michaela Kumke, Communications Director of the Food Bank gave a brief presentation at our Holiday Lunch starting with a thank you to Lincoln South Rotary for our continued support. Our annual Food Drive netted enough to provide 2,185 meals!
Michaela She pointed out that 1 in 6 kids are food insecure. If you look at a group of kids who were in the choir during our holiday lunch, you can't help but wonder which one is not going to have a meal that day.

She pointed out how important the schools and teachers are in helping the kids. The teachers make sure that the kids know of the services and often give of their own resources to make sure kids do not go without.

The Lincoln East Jazz Choir entertained us during our Holiday Lunch. The choir sang a medley of tunes from Charlie Brown Christmas and Michaela stated that all of us - Rotary, the Food Bank and the schools are like the Charlie Brown kids - everyone taking care of each other.

Thank you to the generosity of our members and guests, we collected $724 and 15 pounds of food.
