The Lincoln South Rotary Club Board approved a District Matching Grant submission in support of Educare. Audrey Richert will coordinate the project.
With the 2024-25 District Matching Grant program, club funds will be matched by the district 1.5 to 1.
  • Members submit project ideas to the Club Board
  • Clubs submit projects to the District
  • The District submit those to Rotary International for review and approval
If approved by Rotary International, this project will use $1,200 from the Lincoln South Rotary Club accounts and the District will match it with $1,800.

Matching funds come from The Rotary Foundation as part of the SHARE program. Some of the donations made to The Rotary Foundation are returned to the District for these local community projects.

Your donations to The Rotary Foundation are at work right here in our community!

Below is the text of the article from February asking for project submissions:

The Lincoln South Rotary Club Board is asking members to consider programs or projects that can benefit from grant funds. Can you think of a project that could be from $2,000 to $3,000 - or maybe little more?

During our Foundation Drive announcements, it was mentioned that one of the unique features of The Rotary Foundation is that donations are invested by RI and, after 3 years, some of the funds are returned to our District. The District uses those funds to match our Club commitments for local projects.

We are looking for projects and programs that we might consider for the 2024-25 District Matching Grants. Some Basic Project Criteria:
  • Local project – not international
  • Must purchase item(s)
  • Not just a general donation to organization
  • Involve Rotarians
  • Will want to include Rotary branding
  • Project completion March 31 (see timeline from the District below)
The match may be 1 to 1 or even more We don't have that match amount yet.

The Club Board approved (at the 2-23-24 Board Meeting) up to $1500 from the Club toward a project.

Last year it was No Footprint Too Small, the year before that it was the Tree Distribution with Lincoln Parks & Rec.
