For the upcoming Rotary District Conference, Lincoln South Rotary Club has named Elton Edmond as our Golden Wheel Awardee.
The Golden Wheel Awards were first introduced during the District Conference for the 2022-23 Rotary Year. It is a way to honor non-Rotarian members of our community who exemplify Rotary’s principle motto, Service Above Self.
Lincoln South Rotary Club solicited for nominations from our Club Members. From those nominations, the board selected Elton Edmond.
Elton has been a speaker to our club and has attended as a guest a couple of additional times.

Elton Edmond is a true mentor and community leader. Elton founded the Mentoring Plus organization where he developed programs to mentor underserved youth in the community on social, emotional and professional skills needed for youth to grow up to be positive contributors in the society.
Following 30 plus years of coaching, mentoring, and leading youth through local organizations such as the YMCA, Cub Scouts of America, and Church activities, Elton embarked on his passion of helping youth by starting Mentoring Plus in 2019.
Elton volunteers as Vice-Chair of the Peru State College Foundation, Co-Chair of the Alumni Association, Board member of Cause Collective and a member of the Lincoln Youth Mentoring Coalition and the Health Disparities Coalition. Elton is dedicated to the Mentoring Plus mission of "…Changing lives one good kid at a time.
