Want to be involved in a task force to consider the next International Service Project for Lincoln South Rotary Club?
At the last Lincoln South Rotary Club Board Meeting, we discussed some International Service Ideas. The Board expressed an interest in participating in another International Service Project. But, what project and what extent of financial commitment should we make?

This year's Rotary Theme - Rotary Connects the World - points to our opportunities and the value of getting involved in International projects.

Through our giving to The Rotary International Foundation we are supporting thousands of projects around the world.

But we also have the opportunity to make direct connection or participate in Global Grants which provide a matching of our funds to make a bigger impact. Or we can choose International projects that, even without a match, have an impact on lives around the world.

In the past we have directly supported:
- - Polio National Immunization Days (in India)
- - Zambia projects (headed by Lincoln East)
- - Saguramo Orphanage in Georgia (headed by Tom Cardwell)
- - Children of the Dump in Nicaragua
- - Wheelchair project to Ivory Cost (through Rotaract)
- - East Meets West project through Interact (1998)

Tom Hyde is chairing a task force to consider International projects. If you are interested in being part of the task force, Send an email to Tom (click here to email). We will run this article for a couple of weeks and hope to finalize the task force at that time.
