Lincoln South Rotary Club is the sponsor of the newest Interact Club in the District - Lincoln East High School Interact Club.
The new Lincoln East High School Interact Club held their first meeting on August 21. There were a number of students and support personnel in attendance.
The Club was organized during the last school year under the leadership of founder and charter president Anabeth Schubert. She is now graduated and not in attendance at this first Interact meeting. She is the daughter of Past District Governor Kathryn Schubert.
The club has a dedicated faculty advisor, Ms. Kunze, who was instrumental in making this happen.
The liaison from Lincoln South Rotary Club to the Lincoln East Interact Club is Youth Services Coordinator - Clay Ehlers.
Club Officers Ellie and Cooper provided a wonderful introduction about Interact and Rotary to those in attendance. Past District Governor Kathryn Schubert gifted a bell and gavel to the Interact Club, the same as used by Rotary Clubs for opening and closing meetings.
Incoming Youth Exchange Student from Ukraine - Margo - joined the Interact Club. She was involved in Interact in her home country and will bring much experience to this group.
Member Greyson is the grandson of Tom and Jenny Cardwell - carrying on the Rotary legacy and the family focus on education and service.
On Friday, August 16, the Interact Club was presented with their Certificate of Organization at Lincoln South Rotary Club.
