At Lincoln South Rotary Club on Friday, March 17, 2023, we learned about one of our newest members, Rachel Denney.
Rachel stated that she was not comfortable talking about herself - she is in the business of listening. She is a mental health professional and her company name is Intentions Psychotherapy, PC. She shared that she started by working with Lincoln South Rotary Club member John Herdman.
She stated that the mission of the company is to help enact transformation - intentional healing and personal growth. They believe that this will affect greater and healthier growth throughout the world - aligning with the Rotary ideals. She has been sharing Rotary with her staff member Dicey Lucas. She started as an intern and is now a full-time employee.
Rachel stated that she is a single parent of an adult son - so is now has an empty nest other than 2 elderly dogs. She said that there are some benefits to having an empty next such as not finding dirty socks laying around.
One of the bad things about having an empty nest is that she began to wonder if, other than work, what purpose she had. She found a purpose in Rotary.
She is a first generation American and proud of the fact that she is the first in her family to graduate from college.
