There are nearly 4,000 3rd graders in Lincoln and the Dictionary Project will get a student dictionary in the hands of each and every one of them and their teachers! Rotary 14, Lincoln South, and Lincoln East Clubs are collaborating together on this fun and important project.
The dictionaries were sorted, labeled and packaged on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Since then Rotarians have been busy delivering those dictionaries to the Schools - with only a few left on the schedule.
The students and teachers are thankful for the gifts and talk about what it means to the students. It helps them find interesting information such as the longest word and they learn how to use reference materials, We often hear of students that are surprised they get to keep the dictionary - put their name in it - at times it is the first book that a student has as their own.
