Rotary District 5650 District Conference was October 17-18, 2025 in Omaha. There were inspirational and informative speakers, service projects, fellowship and fun. Lincoln South Rotary Club and members were involved throughout the conference.
Lincoln South Rotary Club has the honor of bestowing a Paul Harris Fellow to someone during the District Conference. The club chooses someone who embodies the ideals of Rotary - typically the Friday luncheon speaker. President Syd Widga presented the Paul Harris Fellow to the Friday lunch speaker - Judi M. gaiashkibos, Executive Director of the Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs.
Awards were presented Saturday night. Lincoln South Rotary Club was honored with:
Polio Plus Support of $1500 or more - we were 6th among all clubs with giving of $3,135.50.
We were 2nd in Per Capita giving to the Annual Fund of The Rotary Foundation at $339.82 (1st was Wayne at $460.42)
Lincoln South Rotary Club was 1 of the only clubs in our District that earned the Club Excellence Award.
Jenny Cardwell was presented with the Rotary International Service Above Self Award which is the highest service award presented by Rotary International. No more than 150 members worldwide receive this award annually.
