The Lincoln South Rotary Club Board is asking members to consider projects or programs that can benefit from grant funds. Can you think of a project from $3,000 to $5,000?

During our Foundation Drive announcements, it was mentioned that one of the unique features of The Rotary Foundation is that donations are invested by RI and, after 3 years, some of the funds are returned to our District. The District uses those funds to match our Club commitments for local projects.

We are looking for projects and programs that we might consider for the 2025-26 District Matching Grants. Some basic project criteria:
  • Local project – not international - must be in, and for the benefit of members in, Rotary District 5650
  • To benefit 501(c)3 organizations
  • Must purchase specific item(s)
  • Not just a general donation to organization, operating funds, capital campaign
  • Involve Rotarians
  • Will want to include Rotary branding
  • Project completion March 31, 2027 (see timeline from the District below)
  • Project manager to enter information online, participate in a Grant Management Seminar
The club approved up to $1,500 for the project. We do not yet know how much the District will Match - last year it was 1.25 to 1, prior years have been 1 to 1 and even 1.5 to 1. Also, the Lincoln South Rotary Club Foundation may elect to additional funds to make the project as much as $5,000 total.

Last year the project was to help the Center for People upgrade their training rooms with smart boards. The prior year we purchased rainboots for EduCare.
