Dr. Rick Cypert, Ph.D. has been a Professor of English and Education at Nebraska Wesleyan University since 1987. A native of Texas, he taught high school English before becoming a professor. He is the author of several published works, including:
- America's Agatha Christie: Mignon Good Eberhart, Her Life and Works. 2005.
- The Virtue of Suspense: The Life and Works of Charlotte Armstrong. 2008.
- Dead Yesterday and Other Stories By Mignon G. Eberhart. 2007. (co-editor).
- Night Call and Other Short Stories by Charlotte Armstrong. 2014 (co-editor with Kirby McCauley).
