Don Anderson is retired. Most recently he managed Global Industries out of Grand Island, an off-shoot of Chief Industries.
Don explained that he has missed a lot of Rotary recently since he as been in and out of the hospital for the last 8 weeks. But, he is better now and grateful for the cards that we sent from the Club.
 
 
He has been in Rotary for 54 years, starting in Jefferson, Iowa. then Grand Island. He was president in Jefferson and in Grand Island twice.
 
He has been married to Mary for 56 years. They have two daughters in Lincoln and a son in California, and a total of 8 grandhildren.
 
He started in a construction company specializing in large buildings - mostly factories but also hospitals, churches and car dealerships. He was asked by Chief Industries to join their team and moved to Grand Island. He managed 16 divisions including International divisions.
 
Global International split from Chief industries and he headed that company. they did business with 15 countries which allowed Don to do a lot of travel.
 
 
He used to enjoy golf. and enjoys watching any football game on TV.
 
He moved back to Lincoln after retiring to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren.
 
Other organizations he has been affiliated with - Nebraska Diplomats, Nebraska Metal Buildings, State Chamber of Commerce, State Economic Development, and the Community College Board in Grand Island.
