The Golden Wheel Award was introduced during the 2022-23 Rotary Year by then District Governor Barbara Bartle. It recognizes outstanding non-Rotarians who best exemplify "Service Above Self" and the "Four-Way Test".
The Lincoln South Rotary Club Board took action last year and selected Nancy Green as the honoree from Lincoln South Rotary Club. Read more about Nancy below.
We are now looking for nominations for the next Golden Wheel honoree for our Club. Any club member an nominate a member of the Lincoln community. The Board will review all nominations and select which to name as our honoree.

2022-23 Golden Wheel Honoree from Lincoln South Rotary Club - Nancy Green

Nancy Green has been selected as the Golden Wheel honoree for Lincoln South. Nancy grew up in Deshler, learning the value of volunteering from her parents, and now passing on to her daughters. As a retired registered nurse, her volunteer work includes: Clinic With a Heart, four mission trips to the Pine Ridge Reservation, Project Lincoln Connect, and two mission trips to Zambia to work at a remote clinic. As a Congregational Care Minister for her church, Nancy makes hospital, rehab, and extended care visits weekly. Serving on the Board for Re-Entry Alliance of Nebraska and as a member of The Homeless Coalition are additional activities.Nancy made a presentation to the Lincoln South Rotary Club after being honored. She thanked the club - she did not realize what an honor it would be. She said it was humbling and exciting to be among all of the other honorees at the District Conference.
