At Lincoln South Rotary Club on Friday, January 9, 2026, we learned about our newest member, Lindsey Licht.
Lindsey grew up in Montana but moved to Denver Colorado when her Dad was transferred.
She got interested in volleyball and moved to Nebraska where she played volleyball for UNL. She loved UNL and Lincoln so much she decided to make it her home!
After graduating from college she sold card for a while but then took on teaching - first Kindergarten (10 years) and the 4th grade for a year. Realizing that she was burning out as a teacher she landed at the Center For People (CFP) and has been there for 1.5 years.
She stated that she wanted to give back to the community - some of the support that she felt was so strong while she was at UNL.
Per Lindsey, "I love being a part of Rotary because I believe in people. I believe that when we support those who need it, our community gets only stronger. I love my role at CFP because I get to do exactly that. I get to advocate for those who may need a little more support in advocating for themselves."
She shared that she is planning to finish her Ph.D this year - if all goes well. She has a love of books and her pets.
