During her visit to Lincoln South Rotary Club, District Governor 2023-24 Kathryn Schubert presented the Rotary Citation from Rotary International that was earned by Lincoln South Rotary Club for the 2021-22 Rotary Year.
Kathryn called DeEtta Vrana, Lincoln South Rotary Club President 2021-22 to the podium for the presentation.
While presenting the citation, Kathryn pointed out that, though it was long overdue, the accomplishments need to be recognized. She also pointed out that one of the reasons they are moving the date of the District Conference is to ensure that the clubs can be recognized soon after the completion of each Rotary Year.
The Rotary Citation is issued by Rotary International. In order to receive the Citation, clubs set goals using Rotary Club Central on the Rotary International website. Clubs that attain at least 13 goals receive the Citation. Lincoln South Rotary was one of only 8 clubs in the District that earned the Citation during the 2021-22 Rotary Year.
Kathryn pointed out some specific items including the new projects Blanket Drive and Eye Glasses for Kenya, while continuing our regular projects such as the Food Drive and Meals on Wheels. We maintained our membership and held regular meetings all while working around the COVID Risk Dial.
DeEtta Vrana accepted the Citation on behalf of the Club.
