Our speaker today, September 11, 2026, was District Governor Gretchen Bren.

The Lincoln South Rotary Club meeting focused on creating lasting impact with Gretchen Bren delivering the main address as District Governor.  Gretchen Bren, a long-time Rotary member and former large-club executive director discussed the importance of focusing on impact rather than just change, sharing her personal journey from joining Rotary in 2007 to participating in 15 polio immunization trips across multiple countries.

She highlighted three key projects of the Lincoln South Rotary Club that demonstrate lasting impact: building skills for a brighter future, helping families navigate grief and loss, and providing support to parents experiencing heartbreak.  DG Bren emphasized the importance of belonging in Rotary, noting that while many join for various reasons, what keeps members engaged is finding their place where they feel they matter. DG Bren emphasized the need for members to feel a sense of belonging in Rotary to stay engaged, and announced an upcoming district conference in Ashland, Nebraska on October 23-24 featuring John Ockenfels as a keynote speaker. Fun will be had by all who attend.

The meeting ended with District Governor Gretchen Bren presenting President Tami Lambie with this year's banner, Create Lasting Impact.

A Reminder: The district conference is in Ashland, Nebraska on October 23-24, and  Remembering Nicki's memorial service is scheduled for September 20th at the Venue from 2-4 PM.
