We were pleased to hear from Michaella Kumke from the Food Bank of Lincoln and Lancaster County on April 23, 2021 at Lincoln South Rotary Club. Her topic She talked about "Covid-19 Impact on Food Insecurity in Southeast Nebraska and Raising the Response to Hunger" and updated us on the Food Bank of Lincoln Capital Campaign.
On April 23, 2021 Lincoln South Rotary Club presented a "big check" to Michaela Kumke, President and CEO of The Food Bank of Lincoln. There was $12,450 raised from among our members toward The Food Bank of Lincoln's capital campaign.
Lincoln South Rotary Club has a long-standing tradition of strong support of The Rotary International Foundation. When a member has accumulated a total of $1,000 in donations, they are named a Paul Harris Fellow. As we continue to contribute we become a Paul Harris + designee.
The Dictionary Project - providing dictionaries to every 4th grade student in Lincoln - was interrupted by the pandemic. But, plans are in place to revive the program in October, 2021.
